Classic Wood Entry Doors

No part of your home is as important as the entrance door. It is your home's first impression. The fact it puts toward the world. Every statement made in your home will be measured by the entry door.

I love this Wood Entry Door . I selected it with the etched glass. When our home was built, 100 years ago, craftsmen etched glass using glue. The glue frosted the glass. I chose the frosted look and the raw wood to bring back the elegance that was part of our home when it was first made.

The back of the house opens to a 'lean too.' Of course, ours includes a pale green mud room, laundry room, back bathroom, and walk in coat closet. The curved door exactly fits the original frame, adding a more European look to the room and bringing some of the Colonial flair back to our home.

Not all doors are made equal. We want a door with True floating panels to safe-guard against warping and bending. Hand fitted miters, mortise, and tenon joints will keep the door fit and tight when it is -10C outside and 25C inside. This is the most important consideration. You don't need to go with a steel insulated door to have an air-tight seal.

We are not putting a storm door on the outside. This will ruin the effect of the house. When you purchase a good door then you don't need a storm door to protect your entrance door. The door will stand up to weather, heat, cold, and wear & tear.
