Building Stairs

No one thinks about building stairs until it is too late. We tried to get pre-fab, only to find that our stairwell is about 4" 'out'. So, we thought we could make it fit - wrong. That first step is a killer. That extra little fall when walking down is enough to make a person go head first.

I found a couple articles on building stairs I like the article listed. There are diagrams that are very easy to follow - and photographs. Everything is detailed enough so that you can use the images to customize your own stairs. Don't do what we did and just 'assume.' Take measurements, and especially take a look at the angles.
