Where to Get Ideas

Before looking for ideas homeowners should have a general idea of the styles they want. I prefer the styles on a British home decorating show. I joined the contest for a free trip to England.

The important thing to remember when trying to recreate the ideas shown on the shows, or in the magazines, is that they never have a lived in home. The kitchen counter has design-art and sculptures on it. That wouldn't last in the real world. There is also no 'lived in' clutter.

The colors may also be difficult to clean. Take Sage Green, if you paint a room in this color then it can fade or dull. Keep this in mind when watching the television shows.
