Eco products are good for the environment, but you need to research carefully before you tear your home up. I bought the new eco bulbs... they didn't fit in my older outlets. I had to hire an electrician to replace the light bulbs. When that was done I was gravely disappointed.
Six bulbs in my ceiling lights did not illuminate a 12x20 room. The light is a dull bluish light that may save electricity, but it is only because it doesn't generate enough light.
So, what do you do? I decided to add scones to the wall. I added table lamps. I removed the eco products from the Office. Of course, by the time I added the lighting, I won't save any money and I doubt I'll reduce the burden on the environment.
Hindsight is 20/20. I found a website which experimented with 65 different types of bulbs and revealed which ones had the nicest glow and which ones illuminated the best. I currently use the bulb on page 7. I am going to try switching to the ones on page 2 of the review.
